Calculate retailer, distributor, wholesaler, and brand economics from a consumer price, gross-margin requirements, landed unit cost, and per-unit channel fees.
Calculator
Enter gross margin percentages, not markups. Channel roles and deductions vary by contract, so add known per-unit fees and use zero for a tier that does not participate.
Reading the result
Each tier shows the buy price implied by the next participant's gross-margin requirement. The final brand view compares the maximum upstream sell price with landed unit cost and entered channel fees.
Before you act
The model does not include rebates, slotting, listing fees, returns, markdown support, payment terms, taxes, freight allowances, commissions, co-op marketing, chargebacks, or contract-specific deductions unless you include them in the fee input.
FAQ
They are gross margins measured against each participant's selling price. Using markup percentages will produce a different and incorrect result.
Enter zero for that tier. The buy and sell price will pass through without adding a margin layer.
It is the price remaining after the entered channel margins, before subtracting the brand's landed unit cost and additional fees.
Retail and distribution contracts can include returns, rebates, allowances, fees, and deductions that are outside the headline gross-margin percentage.
